Lobster, pillars and the Lancelin dunes

A small-group day for 12 at most that spends an hour at the Pinnacles, sits down to half a lobster at the Lobster Shack after a look round its factory, and finishes on the Lancelin sand dunes with a board. Pick it if you want lobster on the plate without an upgrade fee and an hour of sandboarding to close the day.

Pinnacles & Sand Dunes Adventure

About this experience

This listing gives the most detailed timetable of the eight. After pickup in Perth City or Fremantle you get 50 minutes at Yanchep National Park for koalas and kangaroos, then one hour at the Pinnacles, then an hour for lunch in Cervantes. After that come four short coastal stops: Hangover Bay, an unnamed photo stop, a viewpoint and Wanagarren Nature Reserve. The day ends with an hour on the Lancelin dunes.

Lunch is the best value on the list. The listing includes a meal at the Lobster Shack with half a lobster, plus the factory tour, where you see Western Rock Lobster being processed and packed live for export. Drinks at the restaurant are extra. At Lancelin there is no 4WD truck, unlike the koalas and 4WD day: you climb the white dunes and board down them. The operator even packs a fly net for you.

A few things to know. The listing talks about "skip-the-line entry through a separate entrance", but day entry to Nambung is a vehicle pass at the gate house with no booking, so don't choose the tour for that. Your hour among the pillars falls in the late morning, in strong light. And the group size is small enough that the tour needs at least two guests to run. It does not suit wheelchair users or children under 4.

  • Koalas and kangaroos at Yanchep for 50 minutes
